Holding page for a wholesale source of leather alternatives made in the UK.
The standard industrial code is 46420 - Wholesale of clothing and footwear.
The registered office is the home address of one of the director's mums, used to try to keep wholesale and retail separate; there isn't a wholesale warehouse there.
There may be a prestashop site linked to this domain in future that can tell you what is in stock on the shelf, rather than being made to order with whatever time delay such as 8-12 weeks for goodyear welted footwear. Talking of which, the minimum order is 12 pairs per style and colour when made to order; cheaper at 24+, quicker if we have any in stock on the shelf.
We expect to have a range of made to order belts and belt kits available on this site eventually. The styles will be plain, without sewing, one inch to one and a half inches wide by default. The microfibre material is expensive, but hard-wearing and absorbent.
The belts are already available part-made, but costings on large orders - anything over 50 - will take a bit of extra work to check wether they are competative.
We can tag the belts "made in London", or add a vegan logo, or have exeprimented online with the brand Pants to Poverty.
We have 2mm thick black or white microfibre in stock with a slightly grained breathable smooth top layer. We can quote to sell it per meter or part of a meter, either pricing per linear meter or square meter. Stock is held in London SW14, but there is no show room; we could send a square inch or so as a sample. Delivery of cylinder-shaped parcels is specialised and may be cheapest if the material is foulded double for transit, or if you pick it up in the UK at a UPS parcel shop.
Goodyear welted footwear with microfibre tops and three layer plastic soles that mould to the shape of your feet. This is made possible by sewing the soles to the sides of the shoes to allow more insole layers - hence the term "welt" for the plastic strip that goes round the side and gets sewn to the side of the footwear.
Stock control is manual for the moment. This stock take was done for an enquiry in mid-September 2016 and there are plenty of other styles available. We have the use of unusual thick soles that have space for a foam bungee mid-sole under the ball of the foot, rather than the usual felt or cork.

UPS, DPD, Post Office Counters (so most Royal Mail & Parcelforce services), Hermes, Collectplus,
Parcelforce depots & Ipost depots are within a mile.
Customers ask for the cheapest delivery, so we can drop-off at courier points within a mile, then buy a courier service for customers at cost or let customers email a label. This is a CPT trade term in the jargon, apparently.
2kg parcels via Royal Mail cost under £3 and single belts can cost less.
We glance at Parcelmonkey & Parcel2Go for cheap-deal drop-off quotes, and Tramsglobal for America & Oceana.
Good delivery deals at the last glance in late 2016...
- < 20kg from UPS access points to other UPS access points, or Kiala points in Europe, or your address. Point-to-point was £5+VAT
- DPD drop-off prices with delivery to your address or another DPD drop-off shop, tracked in real time and with an option to change delay delivery or change it to a drop-off point if you need to go out. This was about £8 per carton at the last glance.
We can deliver goodyear-welted footwear straight from the factory in the UK for free on orders of 24 pairs or more, and 12 per style and colour. Colours are probably limited to black but it is worth checking.
Maximum price for UK delivery: £8+VAT if we can agree on a courier such as a UPS collection point. If the business were more established, there would probably be a minimum for free delivery but our experience of costing isn't quite clear enough to put a figure on a web site.
We can unpack a few of the boots or fold and re-roll microfibre to fit it into the space.
These are some rules of thumb for working-out your own delivery prices, if you want.
Carton delivery prices are often best value on 30kg cartons up to 56 x 46 x 36 cm. One courier quotes up to 50kg to France.
A welted boot or shoe weighs about 1.25 kg. Boxed boots are more bulky and to post, but cheaper in handling and organisation at your end.
Boot boxes up to about size UK13 are 35cm x 25cm x 15cm.
